In the city of Morelia, as the Day of the Dead approached, young Isabella was captivated by the mystical world of alebrijes, legendary creatures that help our departed loved ones. Her grandfather, Don Ernesto, a skilled carver, crafted these vivid creatures from copal wood, believing them to be spirit guides for returning souls.
Inspired, Isabella created her own alebrije, a magnificent owl called Owen, representing knowledge and wisdom, its wings adorned with vibrant hues.
On the eve of the celebration, she placed it alongside their offerings, and as night fell, it took flight, becoming a legend—a symbol of the profound connection between the living and the departed, a testament to the enduring magic of Day of the Dead and the art of alebrijes in Mexico.
